Trip Report: Spring Training (Znojmo – Kuchařovice)

Here is a short trip report from our pre-season training in Znojmo.
A.k.a: “I´m a hitter I don´t run…”

The idea of off site spring-training came out in January this year. Most players agreed,  date, location, menu, accommodation set and on Friday 07th April we were able to hit direction Znojmo – Kuchařovice (12 players, 3 wifes and 4 kids). Must say: it was the coolest and rainiest day in last four weeks.

Arrival to Kuchařovice was not ideal, some people arrived from direction Brno, some from Austria and some from Znojmo… 🙂 After team lunch we arrived to the Field and by temperature 6° C, wind speed 20km/h and intermediate rain started to practice. Agility drills at the beginning, IF, OF drills and team defense were on schedule. Batting practice postponed to next day, cause rain changed from intermediate to heavy. After dinner some rooms changed to saloons and joyful screams by cards and dices were heard till early morning hours.

Saturday morning was not so happy and full of energy, but at least it stopped raining and with less wind and few sun rays morning practice started. Agility, IF, OF drills and batting practice fulfilled our morning schedule. In the afternoon with more and more objections we started with pitching and baseruning. Bunt defence in the middle and showtime at the end. After dinner we went to a vine-tasting.

No practice on Sunday, just friendly match with Aligatori Znojmo. Game ended after two hours and four innings with our win 15:13.

Some new nicknames were made, but not everyone is happy with them 🙂

Vznikli aj nejaké nové prezývky, ale nie všetci sú s nimi stotožnení 🙂
